China and Malaysia established diplomatic relations in 1974, marking the beginning of a journey of friendly cooperation. In 1999, both countries signed a joint statement outlining a framework for future bilateral cooperation. By 2004, both countries reached a consensus to deepen strategic cooperation, further enhancing bilateral relations. In 2013, China and Malaysia established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both countries reached an important consensus on building a China-Malaysia Community with a Shared Future in 2023, reflecting the shared vision for regional and global development.
